National Federation of the Blind:  Founded in 1940, the National Federation of the Blind (NFB) is the nation's largest and most influential membership organization of blind persons. With fifty thousand members, the NFB has affiliates in all fifty states plus Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico, and over seven hundred local chapters. As a consumer and advocacy organization, the NFB is considered the leading force in the blindness field today.

Blind Industries and Services of Maryland: Located in Baltimore, they conduct the annual Teen Retreat and KIDS Camp.

Long Island Autism: The mission of the LI Autism is to promote lifelong access and opportunity for all individuals within the autism spectrum, and their families, to be fully participating, included members of their community.  The goal of this website is for all of the members to help each other. If you have any information that may be important please feel free to post it. We are here as a support group for each other.

Newsline:   The National Federation of the Blind NEWSLINE® now provides dozens of newspapers such as USA Today, the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, and the Wall Street Journal. Dozens of local papers are also available each day to subscribers. In addition to carrying the news, local sites can use one or more special channels to distribute announcements of specific interest to the blind.

Division of Rehabilitation Services: DORS is a partner in Maryland's Workforce Investment System. In addition to more than 20 field offices, DORS offers services through representatives in several multi-purpose government buildings and in most Maryland One-Stop Career Centers. Eligible people with disabilities can choose from many services that will prepare them to go to work. DORS rehabilitation professionals are experts in disability and employment issues.

Maryland Technology Assistance Program: The Maryland Technology Assistance Program (MD TAP) continues its mission to provide a statewide, consumer responsive system of technical assistance for individuals with disabilities. MD TAP provides numerous services, including the Assistive Technology Guaranteed Loan Program, established through legislation, which enables people who might ordinarily be denied under a bank's stringent lending criteria to get a loan and to get it significantly below the current lending rate. TAP also provides an Equipment Loan Program and Equipment Display Centers where equipment and devices are displayed and demonstrated to consumers. Furthermore, MD TAP continues to provide the citizens of Maryland with its award-winning newsletter, along with schedules and a current calendar of events of its open lab presentations and training sessions on assistive technology.
